Blackfast Chemicals is well known for its established ‘Blackfast’ room-temperature blacking product – a non-hazardous, easy to use, quick and cost-effective “zero-discharge” process for blacking machined components. The Blackfast process is suitable for a small blacking line or for full automation and does not materially affect component dimensions. It provides a uniform, durable, corrosion-resistant finish over machined surfaces, threads and blind holes. Coverage per litre is high and the resultant cost-per-unit of blacking is markedly less than traditional blacking. The company has also recently introduced ‘Blackfast LP’, a cathodic electrophoretic process for depositing a tough, black-pigmented coating onto any substrate that can normally be electroplated. |
