Leading sheet extruder Barlo Plastics launches BARLO SPC diamond, a multiwall polycarbonate sheet aimed at the conservatory and construction market. Many conservatories cannot be used during summer months, as solar radiation causes unwanted heat build up. The new sheet has a diamond structure and newly developed solar control layer to reduce heat build up. |

Designers have a new world of colour to work with. Barlo has taken its' successful cast acrylic design sheet and added a contemporary colour palette, based on World cities to characterise the feel of the individual colour. The range includes such exotic locations as Tahiti Blue and Bali Green through to cooler climes like Iceland White and Arctic Mist. |

Quinn Plastics launches QUINN ACRYL, a highly transparent, amorphous thermoplastic resin based on polymethyl methacrylate. The company will offer the resin in three different grades: high stiffness (standard), high viscosity and impact-modified grades. Better known for it's sheet products, Quinn Plastics will enter the market for injection moulding supplies, with a proven track record in acrylics technology and development. |

BARLO CAST lumina has special light diffusion characteristics, which effectively illuminate the whole sheet surface as a result of light waves passing through the edges of the sheet. This means that smaller and lower power lighting sources can be installed bringing energy saving and construction cost reduction in such installations as urban furniture and poster frames. Ultra slim profile frames can be specified along with a wide choice of lighting sources, such as fluorescent tubes, optical fibres or LED's. |

Barlo Plastics has launched BARLO XT 'Soft Tone' extruded acrylic sheet with the appearance and feel of traditional frosted glass, but without the limitations of size or weight. Barlo Plastics is now reflecting the demand for softer, more tactile surfaces because frosted glass has long been used in store design to give an exclusive, softer appearance to displays, but the risk of breakage has always limited its use to small units. |

The new sheet material is available in Europe exclusively from Barlo Plastics. Spectar resin has been in the market for some time, but sheet sold under the Spectar trademark has not been available. |
