AMBERLITE(TM) FP ion offer creative & cost effective solutions for recovery & purification of food technology

This proven technology results from 70 years experience in the development and manufacturing of functional polymers . The technology exhibits excellent yields, high operating capacity and improves the purity of the product treated while enhancing the efficiency of the process used.
In addition, a wide range of resins are available for a large variety of applications: product recovery, impurity removal, demineralization, taste and odor improvement, color removal and chromatography.

AMBERLITE (TM) FP resins offer a cost effective solution for the recovery of a wide variety of nutraceuticals such as polyphenols , anthocyanins and flavonoids from plant extracts. It can be employed to recover valuable substances such as lactose and proteins from whey or caseins from milk. Ion exchange offers an alternative to acidification by mineral acid. The advantage of the AMBERLITE (TM) FP process is that it does not increase the salinity of the remaining whey.

Rohm and Haas AMBERLITE (TM) FP resins are also utilized for the removal of undesirable compounds, either specific material such as limonin, or more general compounds such as color and odor. Color is probably one of the most common problems associated with the processing of food substances. Ion exchange , especially those exhibiting a significant degree of porosity, can minimize or even replace activated carbon, a well-known decolorizing agent, in a variety of processes. Color precursors can be reduced with ion exchange resins thus prolonging product shelf-life and stability. Rohm and Haas ion exchange resins have been used successfully for color removal by the sugar industry.

Ion exchange resins offer also a compact and reliable alternative to activated carbon for the reduction of off-flavors and odors in a variety of food and especially in the debittering of citrus fruit juices.
