Heliarc 252/352 for the best in AC & DC TIG & MMA welding

ESAB Group : 25 April, 2002  (New Product)
Offering all that's best in AC and DC TIG and MMA welding, ESAB Heliarc 252 and 352 welding machines combine superb welding characteristics with versatility, flexibility and rugged reliability. Precise control to meet exacting welding requirements is provided by a specialised electronic module that incorporates controls for start current, slope up time, slope down time and final crater current level. Full remote control facilities with either 2 stroke or 4 stroke modes of torch operation are provided by Heliarc, the operator being able to hold a low current level at the start and end of the weld cycle when using the 4 stroke torch switch mode.

The compact yet extremely powerful Heliarc 252 delivers an output of up to 320 Amps AC or DC, being rated at 250 Amps at 40% duty cycle. The more powerful Heliarc 352 is capable of delivering up to 380 Amps, offering 350 Amps at 40% duty cycle.

Excellent AC squarewave output is provided by new electronically controlled circuitry and a unique commutation network virtually eliminates rectification problems. Precise control of penetration and arc cleaning action is provided by the AC TIG balance control.

For DC MMA applications, arc force is continually variable, ranging from soft for general purpose and stainless applications, through to deeply penetrating for welding with cellulosic electrodes. For precision DC TIG applications the single range output will weld down to as low as 10 Amps.
