Alcoa announced that its AFL Automotive business is supplying Polaris Industries Inc. with wire harnesses for the company's RANGER all-purpose utility vehicle, one of Polaris' fastest-growing product lines. The wire harnesses are manufactured at AFL Automotive's facility in Acuna, Mexico and then shipped to Polaris' Roseau, Minnesota and Spirit Lake, Iowa, manufacturing plants where the RANGER is produced. "AFL Automotive was selected by Polaris to supply the wire harnesses because of our ability to meet its criteria, including quick turnaround time, which is essential as the utility vehicle market is growing at a rapid pace. In addition, supplying wire harnesses to the powersports industry is an exciting move for AFL Automotive, as we build diversification into our specialty products business," said John Jenkins, Vice President and General Manager - AFL Specialty Products Group. AFL Automotive's Specialty Products Group focuses on the unique needs of the personal and commercial transportation markets. It is a full service designer and manufacturer of wire harnesses and electronic/electrical distribution systems for trucks, buses, recreational vehicles, and engines. Additionally, it offers instrumentation and modular assembly services.
