MOLYKOTE D 96 ANTI-FRICTION COATING QUIETS INTERIOR AUTO SQUEAKS

Molykote D 96 anti-friction coating reduces or eliminates squeaks in automotive interior components such as door panels, arm rests, instrument panel, glove boxes and clips.

“Vibrations produced by forces transmitted to the vehicle when driving over irregularities in the road surface cause intermittent motions to occur between interior parts. These movements,also known as ‘stick-slip’ effects, are responsible for many of the disturbing squeaks noted in automobile interiors,” said Tom Springstead, Dow Corning Automotive Lubrication Program Manager. “Molykote D 96 minimizes this stick-slip condition very effectively by providing an especially smooth, nearly transparent surface between mating parts.”

The air-curing, dry lubricant is suitable for material combinations of plastic-on-plastic, plastic-on-metal, plastic-on-leather, and leather-on-leather interior parts that experience these types of vibrations during regular driving conditions.
