DUPONT TITANIUM TECHNOLOGIES APPOINTS DR. BERND ZIMMERMANN AS GLOBAL MARKETING MANAGER FOR ‘CUSTOMISED PRODUCTS’

| With effect from 1 July 2003, DuPont Titanium Technologies has appointed Dr. Bernd Zimmermann (39) to the position of global marketing manager for its new ‘customized products’ venture. |
In his role, Bernd is responsible for the strategic planning and marketing of a patented injector technology for the customized surface treatment of submicron particles. This new technology permits, for example, the modification of polymers to considerably improve and enhance their properties and processing. Potential areas for application range from packaging products to the automotive industry. A doctor in chemistry, Bernd started his career at ICI Deutschland as area sales manager for inorganic pigments in 1996. Three years later he moved to DuPont, where he was appointed sales manager Germany for titanium dioxide pigments in paper and plastics. Prior to his latest promotion, Bernd worked as development programs manager Europe, leading the European product and market development of new specialist TiO2 pigments for the plastics industry. DuPont has been making titanium-based white pigments for paper, coatings, plastics and specialist applications since 1931 and is currently the world’s leading producer.
