NEW EDITION OF SVETSAREN NOW AVAILABLE

The new edition of Svetsaren, ESAB's welding and cutting journal, is now available. Copies of the 52-page full-colour magazine can be requested free of charge, or a PDF version can be downloaded directly from the ESAB website. This issue of Svetsaren has a particular focus on cutting, along with useful material relating to welding products and consumables.

As well as highlighting several new cutting products, Svetsaren also presents a number of case studies and application stories. These range from the new Berliner Bridge in Halle, Germany, to a plasma cutting machine in use at Thyssen and Alpharex laser cutting machines operating in North America.

For those who use gouging, there are two articles that look in detail at plasma gouging and compare the process with the more traditional carbon gouging that is widely viewed as environmentally damaging.

There is an article about QSet, a new technology for easy, rapid setting of weld parameters for short arc MIG/MAG welding, and an application story that describes how AristoMig 400 inverter power sources are being used in Denmark to perform rail repairs in all weathers. The Origo YardFeed 200 and Aristo YardFeed 2000 wire feeders are also described in detail, and there is news about the AristoPendant U8 controller that now offers users even greater benefits than before.

ESAB has been collating data from users of Marathon Pac bulk containers of welding wire and Svetsaren publishes figures for the typical savings that are being achieved. To complement this article, there is a case study that describes how Marathon Pac bulk containers and OK AristoRod bringing benefits to a fabricator of crane components.
