CADDY TIG HAS NEW, MICROPROCESSOR CONTROLLED POWER SUPPLY
26 June 2007 - ESAB Group
| ESAB's all new Caddy Tig HF has a completely new, microprocessor controlled power supply to give advanced welding features that include high frequency or lift arc TIG starts and MMA functions, with up to 150A welding current available. |
The new machine features a menu setup function in the TIG mode to allow adjustments to be made for pre-gas times, initial current, ramp-up times, final current (% of welding current), and post-gas times. Trigger modes include settings for two stroke, four stroke and manual pulsing. An integral magnetic gas valve provides automatic gas control for ease of use and the DC supply means that copper, nickel, titanium, mild and low-alloyed steels, as well as stainless steels down to 0.5mm thick are all readily welded with Caddy Tig HF. Ideal for on-site fabrication, or repair and maintenance where access with larger equipment is limited, the versatile, rugged machine, weighing just 5.9kg is IP23 approved for outdoor operation. Requiring only a single-phase supply, Caddy Tig HF is easy to use and to set, with all basic settings being controlled by a single knob and push button on the front panel. In MMA mode the Caddy Tig HF is able to weld most metals, including mild and low-alloyed steels, stainless steels and cast iron with stick electrodes up to 3.25mm diameter, and up to 4mm for certain applications. Additional control is provided by hot-start (% of welding current) and arc-force (% of welding current) settings. Caddy Tig HF is available with a range of accessories to suit individual applications or can be supplied by ESAB as a ready to use kit, including power supply, TIG torch, 1.6mm electrode, MMA welding kit and return cable.
