Reconstruction was completed in the record time of 9 months after approval. This was largely due to the commitment of employees from all specialist departments of ThyssenKrupp Steel, who carried out much of the work themselves. However, the flexibility and efficiency of numerous suppliers from the Rhine-Ruhr area also played an important part. This is particularly true of the companies gefeba from Gladbeck and ThyssenKrupp Anlagenservice, who restored the line’s fully destroyed technical systems in a very short space of time.
