ALCAN SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH VALEO TO SUPPLY ALUMINUM SHEET FOR AUTOMOTIVE THERMAL SYSTEMS
Alcan Specialty Sheet has signed a multi-year agreement with Valeo (France) to supply aluminum sheet for use in the automotive thermal systems manufactured in Valeo's European plants. Valeo ranks among the top global players in the automotive heat exchanger segment. “This agreement provides further evidence of the strong relationship between Valeo and Alcan Specialty Sheet, bringing us even closer together,” said Michel Jacques, President and Chief Executive Officer, Alcan Engineered Products. “Including Alcan Specialty Sheet Neuf-Brisach (Europe) and Alcan Rolled Products Ravenswood (North America), Alcan is now the number-one worldwide supplier to Valeo for aluminium rolled products,” he added. The contract encompasses a supply agreement for air conditioning as well as engine cooling heat exchangers, and a comprehensive set of R&D provisions concerning joint developments and cooperation. Alcan Neuf-Brisach has been a “VIP” preferred supplier of Valeo. The Valeo Integrated Partners program recognizes suppliers with whom Valeo has established a close relationship based on a constant drive to achieve excellence. Alcan Specialty Sheet is a key player in the European rolling industry, and occupies leading positions in the beverage can and closures, automotive, bright products [high quality surface for lighting (reflectors), cosmetics, decoration and solar markets], and industrial and customized solutions markets. It includes world-class rolling and recycling operations in Neuf-Brisach (France) and Singen (Germany), as well as dedicated R&D capabilities in Voreppe (France) and Neuhausen (Switzerland). It employs 2,400 people.
