NEW MAXGUARD MARBLE CLEAR GELCOAT COMBINES CLARITY AND PERFORMANCE
The new MAXGUARD gelcoat formulations have passed all aspects of the American National Standards Institute’s 124.3 standard for cultured marble applications. The MAXGUARD CG-CM series also provides prolonged consistency of color for the finished part. Existing gelcoats in the MAXGUARD premium gelcoat line include the MAXGUARD CG-44 marble clear gelcoat series for cultured marble and onyx and the MAXGUARD CG-SG-0010 spray granite gelcoat. The MAXGUARD CG-SG-0010 spray granite gelcoat can be used for both dry hopper and premix applications, which allows fabricators to use one gelcoat for both processes. Ashland Composite Polymers also markets a full line of POLARIS cast polymer resins to the marble, onyx and solid surface industries. The POLARIS resin line is designed to handle normal variations between manufacturers, such as batch or autocaster processing, various gel times and regional reactivity. “By supplying both resins and gelcoats, Ashland provides our marble and onyx customers with the convenience and cooperative problem-solving that comes with a single supplier,” says Dianne Coon, industry manager for cast polymers, Composite Polymers.
