ASHLAND COMPOSITE POLYMERS OBTAINS GLOBAL ISO 9001:2000 CERTIFICATION
Global businesses that depend upon a steady material supply rely upon verified standards to ensure that a product will retain consistent properties when produced in different regions of the world. Ashland Composite Polymers, a business group of Ashland Performance Materials, a division of Ashland Inc., recently received global ISO 9001:2000 certification for its manufacturing sites, development laboratories and business practices. “Achieving certification is an arduous task that takes dedication from all our employees, but to achieve this on a global basis is indeed a milestone,” said Scott Hoertz, director global marketing for Ashland Composite Polymers. “Because Ashland is the leading producer of unsaturated polyester resins for composite products in the world, our certification sends a significant message to the marketplace that Ashland delivers quality, consistency and reliability, no matter where in the world our customers may be located.” The certification was awarded to Ashland Composite Polymers from Bureau Veritas, an international group founded in 1828 that uses specific benchmarks to assess business conformity in areas of quality, health, safety, environment and social responsibility. The certification recognizes Ashland for development, manufacture and supply of polyester resins, vinyl ester resins, gel coats, topcoats, low-profile additives, specialty resins and other related products.
