ASHLAND CASTING SOLUTIONS NAMES COLD BOX TECHNOLOGY MANAGERS

Ashland Casting Solutions has named three senior product managers to lead the worldwide marketing efforts for its market-leading cold box technology product line. James J. Archibald has assumed the role of Senior Product Manager - Cold Box Resins for Asia; Andrew D. Busby has been named Senior Product Manager - Cold Box Resins for Europe; and Greg Sturtz is Senior Product Manager - Cold Box Resins for North and South America.

In these roles, Archibald, Busby and Sturtz will develop and implement strategies for cold box resin growth within their respective regions. All three positions report to Dave Gilson, global marketing manager, Cold Box Systems.

'Casting Solutions is combining its global manufacturing and support capabilities with an ever-expanding and technically sophisticated product offering to ensure that we can add value to our customers throughout the metal casting process and throughout the world,' said Greg MacIver, global marketing director, Ashland Casting Solutions. 'With the extensive casting industry and cold box experience of our product managers we can further strengthen our coordinated marketing strategy for these products.'

Archibald has worked with Ashland's Casting Solutions group since 1984 and has held numerous positions including product management and marketing for the group's no-bake and cold box resin products. Prior to Ashland he worked with Deere & Company in Waterloo, Iowa, where he was involved with core production, sand mixing and materials testing and quality for foundry consumables.

Archibald holds a bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing, with a minor in Chemistry, from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. He has also completed executive-level marketing coursework at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Indiana University in Bloomington, and the Kellogg Business School at Northwestern University. Currently, Archibald serves on the Board of Directors of the Cast Metals Institute.

Busby's background includes 18 years with Ashland's Casting Solutions group where he has served in various technical, marketing and sales roles. Most recently he was the technical and marketing manager for Casting Solutions with Ashland U.K. Previous employment includes experience as senior investigator for molding methods and materials with BCIRA, and laboratory technician with Mansfield Sand Company. Busby is qualified in HNC Foundry Technology with IBF endorsements and has 16 published articles and industry presentations to his credit.

Greg Sturtz has worked with Ashland Casting Solutions for 26 years. He began his career with Ashland as a research chemist and has subsequently held a number of product management, development and marketing positions within the group.

Sturtz has a Juris Doctorate in patent law from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio; a master's degree in physical chemistry from The Ohio State University in Columbus and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Central Michigan University. He is an active member of the American Foundry Society and is currently a member of the 10E Air Quality Environmental Health and Safety Council, and a former chairman of the 4-I-1 Molding Methods and Materials Council. He also holds several U.S. patents related to foundry technology.
