APAC'S MEMPHIS BUSINESS UNIT AWARDED $38.6 MILLION MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY PROJECT

APAC-Tennessee, Inc. today announced that its Memphis division has been awarded a $38.6 million contract by the Mississippi Department of Transportation for work on Interstate 55. Work is scheduled to begin in March and be completed in December 2006.

The three-mile-long project in DeSoto County includes milling, reconstruction of existing lanes and construction of new travel lanes. In addition, APAC's Memphis division will manage the reconstruction of four bridges and the interchange at Stateline Road and I-55.

The project will require nearly 92,000 square yards of milling, 161,600 square yards of Portland cement concrete paving and 153,600 tons of hot-mix asphalt, according to Nickolas Haynes, president of the Memphis division.
