APAC'S MEMPHIS BUSINESS UNIT AWARDED $38.6 MILLION MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY PROJECT

| APAC-Tennessee, Inc. today announced that its Memphis division has been awarded a $38.6 million contract by the Mississippi Department of Transportation for work on Interstate 55. Work is scheduled to begin in March and be completed in December 2006.

The three-mile-long project in DeSoto County includes milling, reconstruction of existing lanes and construction of new travel lanes. In addition, APAC's Memphis division will manage the reconstruction of four bridges and the interchange at Stateline Road and I-55. The project will require nearly 92,000 square yards of milling, 161,600 square yards of Portland cement concrete paving and 153,600 tons of hot-mix asphalt, according to Nickolas Haynes, president of the Memphis division. As the nation's premier transportation construction contractor, the APAC group of companies operates in 14 Southern and Midwestern states. APAC's assets consist of 96 aggregate production facilities, including 35 permanent operating quarry locations; 65 ready-mix concrete plants; 239 hot-mix asphalt plants; and more than 15,000 pieces of mobile equipment.
