ASHLAND CASTING SOLUTIONS CONTINUES PERSONNEL INVESTMENTS IN ASIA; KEN CHANG ASSIGNED
13 November 2003 - Ashland Inc

In a move to bolster its technical expertise and customer support for the Chinese and Asian markets, Ashland Casting Solutions will relocate Dr. Ken Chang to its Changzhou R&D facility to act as technology development manager.

He reports to Dr. Jörg Kroker, global technology director, Ashland Casting Solutions. According to Kroker, 'Ashland is committed to investing in talent and facilities that will directly impact Casting Solutions' Asian customers. Ken's assignment to our Changzhou facility reinforces this commitment to providing best-in-class local technical support.'

Chang has over 15 years of experience in foundry binder research and technology, including product development of cold box, no-bake, heat curable and inorganic binder systems. His inventions led to over 15 U.S. and foreign patents. Prior to the Changzhou assignment, Chang served as technical manager for no-bake and heat cured binders.

Chang holds a doctorate (Ph.D.) in polymer chemistry from Case Western Reserve University (U.S.), a master's degree in polymer chemistry and a bachelor's degree in organic chemistry from Tsin Hua University (Taiwan).

Ashland's Changzhou R&D facility opened in 2001 and is one of Ashland Casting Solutions' eight wholly-owned or joint venture ISO-certified facilities worldwide.
