The version 1.1 release builds on the functionality of version 1.0 by now offering monitoring for standard boiler water with AMERZINE® corrosion inhibitor programs for motor vessels or steam ships (<850 psig), a LIQUIDEWT™ cooling water treatment program, and MAXIGARD® and DEWT® NC diesel engine water treatment programs. “The addition of these water treatment programs to the previous capabilities of DREW WATCH allows many more customers to enjoy the benefits of this software,” notes Nels Hendrickson, vice president, marketing, Drew Marine. “DREW WATCH version 1.1 uses chemicals more efficiently, discovers maintenance and repair issues more quickly, and is both more cost effective and more environmentally friendly.” DREW WATCH Electronic Services Version 1.1 DREW WATCH Electronic Services is the first electronic steam water treatment system monitoring software in the marine industry. It eliminates hand compilation of paper logs by automatically generating easy-to-read color histograms, and allows data to be sent electronically from the ship to Drew Marine technical centers, as well as to ship management, for in-depth review and further recommendations. Tutorials, step-by-step on-screen instructions and images describing each water treatment test procedure save crew training time and expense. DREW WATCH Electronic Services can be used on motor vessel steam systems (low pressure) that include exhaust gas and auxiliary heat steam systems for fuel, cargo and comfort, as well as medium-pressure steam propulsion systems up to 850 psig. Cruise ships using small steam-generating systems, comprising feed water, boiler water, and condensate, can use DREW WATCH to obtain the maximum effectiveness from chemical treatments that extend the life and efficiency of the system. In addition to providing test result recommendations, the software can act as a virtual Drew Marine service engineer, training new users how to run tests, interpreting them, and recommending actions.
