AUTOTYPE POPS UP WITH A COMPLETE DISPLAY SOLUTION
18 February 2003 - Autotype International
| Drawing on its longstanding expertise in hard-coating technology, Autotype International Ltd. is launching a complete, high-quality, durable pop-up display solution, SIGMAGraF Pop Up. |
This innovative new two-piece system combines the resilience and vibrant image quality of SIGMAGraF film technology with a compatible film backing called Backstop 350. Through this convergence of technologies, SIGMAGraF Pop Up overcomes a number of shortcomings inherent in traditional paper-based, laminated displays, at the same time adding value and quality to displays. Since SIGMAGraF Pop Up is a simple two-step process, creating a display with the right effect no longer requires a great amount of time-consuming and skilful labour. The new system also offers exceptional image clarity and material durability. Displays produced by conventional methods can suffer from lack of colour brilliance and impact caused by the poor see through of the laminating materials and adhesives. They can experience panel failure through delamination, which is triggered by moisture from dye sublimation inks becoming trapped between the media and the laminate surfaces. By using SIGMAGraF hard-coated ink jet films, with the images printed on the reverse side, there is instant image protection, and no deterioration of image quality caused by the introduction of an adhesive barrier. Backstop 350 pressure-sensitive, white polyester film provides a rigid, but flexible, white backing to SIGMAGraF. As Backstop 350 and SIGMAGraF are made from exactly the same materials, graphics made using SIGMAGraF Pop Up can guarantee identical performance in all conditions and environments. This stands in distinction to other panels made with a variety of products, which each react in different ways to changes in environmental conditions – such as temperature drops in air freight, or temperature rises in a hot car boot – leading to expensive faults and defects in the graphic. Laura Bullmore, International Sales Manager for Autotype, comments, “We have a terrific system which not only ensures optimum graphic resolution, but ease of application with total reliability in all conditions. Not many products in the market can give consumers these three benefits.” As an added bonus, SIGMAGraF films are available in three different outer finishes – Textured Matt, High Gloss and AntiGlare. Autotype has further extended the range to include a pigment receptive coating, suitable for the newer and faster piezo printers, and thinner backing films for lightweight and roll-up systems.
