AUTOTYPE WINS EXCELLENCE AWARD
05 December 2001 - Autotype International

Autotype International's Capillex CP team, based in Wantage, Oxfordshire, and Schaumburg Illinois, has been awarded the prestigious David Swormstedt, Sr. Memorial Award by the Academy of Screen Printing Technology for 'It's the PITS: Pile Height in Process-Colour UV Printing, Part 2', an article published in the December 2000 issue of Screen Printing Magazine.

The article addresses the issues surrounding the control of high quality 4-colour UV process printing and shows what functional features have to be built into a stencil system in order to achieve a major improvement in 4-colour capability. The Capillex CP team has incorporated these important features into their new product and screen printers are discovering that these features really give them the breakthrough in quality that they required for compact discs, glass printing and high-end large-format graphics applications.

The award, which recognises excellence in writing on screen printing topics, reinforces Autotype's reputation as a leading authority in the industry, both at home and on the international stage.

The award-winning Capillex CP team that provided the research material for the article comprised Professor Steven Abbott, Head of Research and Technology and author of the piece, Joe Raymond, Business Manager Stencil Systems, Mark Sheldon, Project Chemist, and David Parker, Marketing Manager.
