MORGOILŽ TO UPGRADE CHOCKS AND BEARINGS FOR TURKISH MILL

| The MORGOILŽ Bearing Division of Morgan Construction Company has received a contract from Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari, T.A.S. (ERDEMIR), of Eregli, Turkey, to upgrade the chocks and bearings on their Mesta plate mill.

The contract, obtained by Morgan-Europe, the company's Sheffield, England, based European subsidiary, calls for the modernization of a mill ERDEMIR purchased from International Steel Group Inc, Sparrows Point, in Baltimore, USA, which will be relocated to Turkey. Steve Lidgate, Managing Director of Morgan Europe, in announcing the contract, said, 'The modernization will include the reconditioning of the existing back-up chocks, supply of new bearing components, including hydrostatic bushings, and the reconditioning and modification of existing sleeves. In addition,' he continued, 'the modernization will include the addition of MORGOIL's patented LDŽ Locks. When completed, the upgrade will provide the mill with improved rolling performance and bearing life,' he said. Engineering and manufacturing will be completed at the company's Worcester, MA, headquarters, with delivery scheduled for September 2004.
