MORGAN TO UPGRADE NORTH STAR'S COMPACTOR EQUIPMENT

Morgan Construction Co., has received its second major contract within the past few months from North Star Steel, of Minneapolis, Minn. to upgrade North Star's Beaumont, Texas facility.

The most recent contract calls for Morgan to update the existing vertical compactors with state-of-the-art tying head system. Morgan recently announced receipt of a contract to upgrade the existing StelmorŪ conveyor and laying head equipment at the same plant.

In making the announcement of the most recent sale, John Foley, General Manager of Domestic Rolling Mill Sales, explained, 'The new tying heads, are designed to reduce maintenance costs through a substantial reduction of down time, while producing a stronger and more consistent knot. In addition the overall coil package will be improved.'

This installation will be the first in North America, using the revolutionary binding machine concept, developed, and supplied by Morgan. The installation and startup is planned for August 2000.
