DISTRUPOL TARGETS LEADERSHIP ROLE IN COMMODITY AND ENGINEERING PLASTICS DISTRIBUTION IN FRANCE

Distrupol has recently moved into new premises at Vincennes (in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France).

Dedicated to polymer distribution these new premises represent another significant step in establishing Distrupol as a leading French polymer distribution operation following the re-branding of the former Lambert Rivière polymer distribution business last year.

Adding extended logistics and warehousing resources to an established track record and experience in both commodity and engineering polymers , Distrupol markets one of the most extensive product portfolios , including polyolefins from SABIC (former DSM-Petrochemicals), elastomers and engineering plastics from DSM, polystyrene from BASF, PET from DuPont SA and ABS from Toray.

'Our broad product portfolio can only be matched by a limited number of distributors in the region; added to our technical support expertise, we believe our offering is unrivalled', says François-Xavier du Passage, managing director of Distrupol in France . “These new premises, now formally, separate us from the chemical operations of our parent Univar allowing all aspects of our business, its support and IT systems to be focused entirely on serving our plastics industry customers. They also represent the first in a number of investments we plan to make over the coming months which will further enhance both our technical and sales capabilities through additions to our French team”.

In addition to its internal expertise, Distrupol’s French operations are able to call upon the company’s European technical resources as well as the worldwide development resources of its principle materials suppliers. Distrupol is currently finalising the IT integration with its principals' information systems. This will further enhance the company's quality and speed of response to customers’ demands both in terms of material sourcing (Distrupol is an investor in the Omnexus e marketplace) and specialised technical assistance.
