SANDVIK’S INDUSTRIAL PROCESSING DIVISION AIMS TO ‘RAISE GLOBAL PROFILE’

PC Industrial Processing, one of three product centres that form Sandvik Process Systems, has embarked on a major drive to raise awareness of its global capabilities in chemical and food processing solutions. Among the first results of this is a new brochure introducing the company, its systems and their applications. Among the areas covered are systems for granulation, cooling, freezing, drying, film/sheet casting, sheet moulding and conveying. Products featured include the Rotoform family and both single and double belt cooling, heating and pressing systems. The 20 page brochure also highlights the company’s worldwide support network and services available through its technical Demo Centres. The overall campaign will also see new videos and new, market-specific literature. The drive to increase awareness of the IP business follows organisational changes that saw Sandvik Process Systems join the larger Sandvik Materials Technology area of the Sandvik Group. At the same time, the company’s Fellbach office in Germany was made the worldwide HQ for Industrial Processing, with responsibilities for sales, engineering, production, R+D and after-sales service. The other two product centers within Sandvik Process Systems are Steel Belts and Press Plates. “As a company with our own identity within the business,” says Matthias Kleinhans, managing director of PC Industrial Processing, “our strengths are our expertise and responsiveness; in effect we’re a flexible, mid-size company.” However, Industrial Processing’s position in the market is significantly strengthened by its strong ties with sister company PC Steel Belts, whose core product forms the heart of all of Sandvik’s industrial processing systems. And Kleinhans is also quick to highlight the benefits of being part of Sandvik Materials Technology and, in turn, the overall Sandvik Group, a $6 billion a year business with 37,000 employees in 130 countries. “This scale of operation and financial security means that we’re able to offer real strength and stability alongside our own speed and responsiveness,” says Kleinhans. “Our task now is to raise the profile of SPS Industrial Processing and cement our position as global market leaders in our niche markets. The launch of our new brochure is a small but important step in this direction.”
