Success breeds more success: At the seventh annual “Auto Color Award 2004” presentations in Tokyo, automotive customers of BASF NOF Coatings Co., Ltd. (BNC) were once again successful ... just like last year. This year as well, the prestigious competition was organized by the “Japan Fashion Color Association” (JAFCA), to which over 700 companies belong.

This year the coveted “Fashion Color Prize & Auto Designers’ Color Prize” went to the auto manufacturer Nissan. Nissan’s “Fuga” model in “Grayish Bronze” colour made a big impression on the jury and took first place. This colour is based on BNC’s OEM colour “BC 31.” The “Auto Color Award” is unique in Japan. A jury consisting of designers and color experts from all areas awards the prizes in such varied categories as “Interior Design” and “Technological Section.” Before the winners are determined, the competing colours and vehicles must be carefully inspected and evaluated by the jurors.
