DISTRUPOL SIGNED AS SOLE DISTRIBUTOR FOR SOLVAY’S IXEF® AND SOLEF® PRODUCTS IN THE NORDIC REGION

As of 1 April Distrupol, one of Europe’s leading polymer distributors and a member company of Royal Vopak, became the sole distributor for Solvay’s Ixef polyarylamide (PAA) and Solef polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) product ranges throughout Scandinavia.

This new agreement with Solvay extends an earlier arrangement under which the company handled Ixef for Sweden and Norway, and later included the distribution of the Benvic range of PVC blends and alloys throughout the four Nordic countries. It now broadens Ixef coverage to Denmark, and adds distribution of Solef products for Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

“The willingness of Solvay to expand the distribution agreement is recognition of Distrupol's strength in engineering plastics and the depth of technical support and application development assistance we are able to offer our customers,” says Distrupol Sales Director Nordic, Thomas Andersson.

Both products are seen as having strong market potential in the Nordic area, Ixef in the telecoms sector for structural parts and chassis as well as connectors and housings for electrical and electronic equipment, and Solef in a range of industrial applications for which chemical resistance is of particular importance.

According to Solvay’s Jens Hoeltje, Business Manager Ixef and Primef products: “We have for some time been working successfully with Distrupol in the Swedish and Norwegian market as a distributor for our Ixef product range. In reviewing our distribution agreements within the region we were introduced to their team in Denmark and were impressed with the strength and capabilities of the organisation. Both Ixef and Solef are polymers requiring high levels of technical support and Distrupol has demonstrated that it is able to deliver the levels of customer support required by our customers.”
