TEST-LAUNCH OF WELDOX 800

'Our tests show very good results. Now we need to try the steel in reality. If everything goes well, we’ll launch WELDOX 800 globally in March 2004,' says Anders Skirfors, product development manager of WELDOX.

The market for WELDOX 800 is large. Users of 700 steels are potential customers.
'Many companies hesitate to change from a 700 to a 900 steel since the gap in strength is too wide. WELDOX 800 offers a good alternative for these customers,' says Anders Skirfors.

It was actually customers that initiated the development of the new steel.
'So many customers asked for an 800 steel that we started to work on WELDOX 800. The customer demand is of course economically vital, but it also gives good energy to our development work,' says Anders Skirfors.
