JIM CHRISE NAMED PRESIDENT AND CEO OF BAYER POLYMERS' DEERFIELD URETHANE, INC. SUBSIDIARY

Bayer Polymers LLC named Jim Chrise president and CEO of Deerfield Urethane, Inc. Deerfield Urethane, a subsidiary of Bayer Polymers, is one of the country's leading manufacturers of thermoplastic polyurethane film.

Chrise will succeed Richard Baxendell, who has served as president and CEO for the past four years. Baxendell will now assume the role as head of Bayer Polymers' Polycarbonate Film Business in the Americas region.

Chrise joined Bayer Corporation in 1984 as a process engineer in corporate engineering at the company's Pittsburgh, Pa., site. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in corporate engineering, plant engineering, coatings raw material, and plastics manufacturing both in the United States and at Bayer AG, Bayer Polymers' parent company in Leverkusen, Germany. Prior to being named president and CEO of Deerfield Urethane, Chrise was in Germany and responsible for global production and technology for ABS andPC/ABSmanufacturing.

Deerfield Urethane's diverse product lines and capabilities make it the leading supplier to a vast number of markets and industries. Its thermoplastic polyurethane products are sold under the Dureflex trade name and the company offers a variety of grades to meet various application requirements.
