HENNECKE MACHINERY DEVELOPS INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY FOR PROCESSING CO2 SLABSTOCK FOAM WITH FILLERS

Ingo Wilkes, Senior Technical Sales Representative, and James D. Shoup, Project Manager, of Bayer Corporation's subsidiary Hennecke Machinery, will present a paper describing the new technology Tuesday afternoon at the Alliance for the Polyurethanes Industry (API) Polyurethanes Conference 2002 here. Their paper is entitled NOVAFLEX®- Multifill: An Innovative Technology For Processing CO2 Slabstock Foam With Fillers. The authors will explain and describe the method and the use of the NOVAFLEX-Multifill process as well as the background drivers that led to the development of the new process. 'We developed the Multifill process with the intent of enabling manufacturers to combine the benefits of filler with the excellent foam qualities of the NOVAFLEX® by using blowing agents without being harmful to the environment or human health,' said Ingo Wilkes. 'In the past, the types of dispersions achieved when using conventional methods of adding fillers caused problems in the CO2 foaming process,' James Shoup added. 'We developed the Multifill process to resolve those difficulties. This new process offers great potential for new applications.'
