FANTASIA™ MAKES A COLORFUL IMPRESSION WITH EAST COAST DESIGN COMMUNITY
20 September 2002 - Bayer MaterialScience AG
| On the evening of September 4, 2002 at Material ConneXion in New York City, more than 175 industrial product designers and architects attended Bayer's unveiling of Fantasia -- a new technology initiative for adding colors and special effects to the company's engineering thermoplastics. |
Guests were treated to a wide array of colorful food and beverages -- all served from items made of Bayer Plastics -- as they strolled through Material ConneXion's showroom, which included various lifestyle product displays: action, leisure, information technology, and beauty. Each display, along with Material ConneXion's showroom display wall, showcased items -- furniture, houseware items, hand-held electronic products, etc -- that were made of various Bayer plastics and enhanced using one of five Fantasia colors and effects technologies. Sony Electronics, Estee Lauder, Oakley, Herman Miller Design and others discussed a wide range of application ideas with Bayer's Fantasia technology experts. With so many options, attendees received a first-hand look at how the latest colors and effects technologies could be incorporated into their next generation product designs. Many of which will be seen over the next several months in U.S. stores and catalogues.
