BAYER CORPORATION'S COATINGS AND COLORANTS DIVISION TO EXHIBIT AT WORLD OF CONCRETE SHOW IN NEW ORLEANS
30 October 2001 - Bayer MaterialScience AG

Two business units of Bayer Corporation's Coatings and Colorants Division will exhibit at the World of Concrete Show, Jan. 9-12, 2002, at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La.

The Bayer exhibit, #9729, located in The Producer Center section of the show, will feature quality Bayferrox® iron oxide colorants for concrete, and high-performance polyurethane resins used in lightstable polyurethane coating systems such as clear and color topcoats, and aliphatic polyurea and polyurethane waterborne technologies for concrete coatings systems.

The Bayferrox pigment displays will feature information on using Bayferrox C compacted granular pigments with automated metering. The display will also feature the line of products available from QC Construction Products that includes Bayferrox by QC, color hardeners, release powders, patina stains, wall liner systems and QC Thin-Pave™ for transforming existing concrete into beautiful, decorative surfaces.

For concrete coatings systems the Bayer exhibit will feature lightstable polyurethane polyurea and waterborne technologies. The lightstable aliphatic polyurea systems yield coatings that offer fast cure for higher productivity, low to zero VOCs, and application at low temperatures. These lightstable polyurea-based coatings are also non-yellowing.

Bayer's polyurethane waterborne technology results in concrete coating systems that are solvent- and odor-free, and which feature high gloss, abrasion resistance, UV light stability, chemical resistance and high weatherability.
