WELDING INFORMATION FROM TWI SOFTWARE

Welding Coordinator software. |
TWI Software has released a new off-the-shelf version of its Welding Coordinator software. Welding Coordinator manages production welding data in the form of weld maps, weld histories, weld logs, weld schedules, etc. The software integrates with TWI's Weldspec, Welderqual and NDTspec programs to give a total solution for welding related information. Previously, Welding Coordinator has been customised by TWI to suit individual company's specific requirements. Entergy Nuclear Northeast and Nooter Corp. in the US and BP Chemicals, VT Shipbuilding and Heatric in the UK have all benefited from this approach. The new software, however, can be configured by end users to suit their own data storage and reporting requirements making the software much more affordable. Welding Coordinator is a multi-user software tool which works over a company's network. As data about individual welds are entered into the system, instant progress reports showing percentages of welds completed and tested can be run by the management team. The links to the Weldspec and Welderqual software allow Welding Coordinator to select suitable welding procedures and qualified welders automatically. Once a welding project is complete, the system can print complete data books for the project, including the weld map and all associated information, such as WPSs and PQRs. The system then acts as a traceability tool for all welding information, a key aspect of QA systems for welding. The Weldspec, Welderqual and NDTspec tools have been used by fabricators for many years to manage welding procedures, welder qualifications and NDT/NDE reports. The programs have code rules built-in from the most commonly used welding standards, such as ASME IX, AWS D1.1 and EN 287/EN 288/EN 15614.
