MATERIALISE PRESENCE IN CHINA MEETS THE RISING DEMAND FOR ADVANCED MATERIALISE TECHNOLOGY
10 March 2005 - Materialise NV
| Just 5 months after establishing its South Korean liaison office, Materialise announces the setting up of a representative office in Shanghai, China. With this latest office Materialise Software is set to offer more localised support, take on new business and strengthen the company's existing relationships in China. |
Strategically located in Shanghai, the office is the latest addition to the fast growing Materialise' worldwide network of sales representatives and support engineers. The new office will house an initial team of 5 professionals and is headed by Mr. James Chen. Materialise has been cooperating with local partners and Chinese OEMs since several years. Wim Michiels, Materialise' general manager for the Asia-Pacific region comments: "We are collaborating with most Chinese manufacturers of rapid prototyping (RP) equipment, who are convinced that (customized) Magics software allows their customers to get most out of their machines. Other Chinese companies too have selected Materialise technology as they see the value of having high-quality, professional software solutions that enable better performance and lower costs. The demand for all our technical and medical software packages is steeply rising in China! In addition, there are tremendous growth prospects for the Chinese market. Local presence has become essential". James Chen, manager of the Materialise China office, adds: "I look forward to represent Materialise in China and to intensify our presence in this fast-growing market. Our office will offer advanced sales and technical support to all Chinese Materialise software users and partners." "The creation of a representative office in China is evidence of Materialise' long-term commitment to Chinese companies involved in rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing and a significant milestone in Materialise's efforts in Asia. The Shanghai office will be tremendously beneficial in facilitating our activities in the region," concludes Fried Vancraen, Materialise' CEO. Yesterday Materialise' CEO, Wilfried Vancraen, and Manager of Materialise Asia Pacific, Wim Michiels, hosted the opening ceremony for the Materialise China office.
