Plastohm relies on The Glass Polymer from Eastman Chemical Company to complete its range of high-end packaging solutions for the beauty and healthcare markets: Senso Intense

Plastohm Group’s Packaging Division, a European leader in plastic packaging solutions, has selected The Glass Polymer from Eastman for a new high-end, thick-walled bottle designed to appeal to the senses of the user and set to complete its range of bottles for beauty and healthcare applications.

Still in the prototyping phase, Plastohm’s new Senso Intense 5 ml container is intended to enhance the company’s high-end Senso range of containers.

The new container will be introduced at the LuxePack exhibition in Monaco, where packaging developers, marketers and other key decision-makers will be able to evaluate its visual and tactile appeal.

Injection-blow moulded with 27 grammes of The Glass Polymer, the new 50-ml Senso Intense bottle was designed primarily for packaging facial creams.

“The unique properties of The Glass Polymer have allowed us to create a bottle with a deeply sensuous design that conveys a particular visual AND tactile sensation, thanks to its unique ‘non-cold’ touch and its unexpectedly light weight,” said Isabelle Blondeau, Marketing Manager of Plastohm Packaging Division.

The Glass Polymer provides a new alternative material for creating high clarity, thick-walled containers.

With a unique visual and feel combination, The Glass Polymer offers new opportunities for product differentiation because of its extended design possibilities.

It allows elegant thick-walled containers to be designed with high clarity, beauty and strength, which can be produced either by injection moulding or blow-moulding.

The material provides designers with a durable yet clear, alternative packaging material.

“Our experience with The Glass Polymer, as well as the active cooperation of Eastman Chemical in developing the new Senso Intense bottle, are perfectly in line with Plastohm’s own strategy that focuses on providing innovative packaging solutions for our customers through our ability to custom-develop unique packaging solutions and our expertise in processing, coloring and decoration technologies”, Blondeau added.
