EASTMAN SPECIALTY PLASTICS AT EMBALLAGE 2004
22 July 2004 - Eastman Chemical Company

At Emballage (November 22-26, 2004), Eastman Specialty Plastics will demonstrate how its product range brings added benefits to design and creative marketing professionals in the packaging market – ranging from luxury packaging to shrink sleeves, device packaging and fluid packaging.

Key products on show will be the Glass Polymer, a new alternative to glass for high clarity, thick-walled containers. Glass Polymer looks and feels like glass and it offers new opportunities for differentiation on the shop shelf because of its extended design possibilities. The Glass Polymer allows elegant thick-walled containers to be designed with high clarity, beauty and strength. These can be produced either by injection molding or blow-molding. The material provides designers with a durable, yet clear alternative to traditional glass as a packaging material.

In addition, Eastman will show the latest developments in Embrace copolyester, a resin that provides maximum design freedom and maximum shelf appeal for the packaging designer due to its ability to produce attractive graphics and a label that can fit to high contour containers.

Clear, large capacity containers featuring a genuine grip-handle are now possible with a new Eastman family of copolyester resins that combine the clarity properties of PET with the functionalities offered by extrusion-blow moulded polyolefins. Such containers can be produced with capacities of more than one litre!
