NEW DISTRIBUTOR FOR EASTMAN CHEMICAL COMPANY IN SPAIN

On 1 March 2002, Eastman Chemical BV announced a new cooperation with the Company Resinex - Campi y Jove, Barcelona, for the distribution of Eastman Specialty Plastics in the Iberic Peninsula.

As of 1 March, Resinex - Campi Y Jove Spa, the Spanish office of the international Resinex group, becomes the official distributor in Spain and Portugal for the full range of Eastman Plastics dedicated to injected parts.

This unique portfolio includes:
* Eastar Copolyester and Durastar polymers: amorphous copolyesters for injection moulding;
* Thermx PCT: high temperature polyester for automotive and electronic industry
* Titan LCP : High performance liquid crystal polymer for the electrical, computer and telecommunication industry.

‘This contract finalizes a first period of informal cooperation with Eastman, that allowed us to already develop applications in many market segments like the cosmetic market, house wares, water jugs, safety boxes. Other developments, for instance in the automotive industry and in the electronics/electricity segments, are looking very promising’ said Ramon Jove Pons, General Manager at Resinex Campi y Jove.

Gerd Ruland, European Sales manager at Eastman Specialty Plastics confirms :
‘Most of our plastics are unique and at the begining of their life. Thanks to Resinex Campi y Jove global presence in Spain and Portugal, this new cooperation will definitely support our success in such a growing market.’
