ADVANTECH IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE ADVANTECH INDIA AS OUR NEW REGIONAL BUSINESS UNIT IN SOUTH ASIA PACIFIC REGION

Advantech, the leading ePlatform service provider, is pleased to announce the official opening of Advantech India (Advantech Co. Singapore Pte Ltd India Branch). The new office is located in Bangalore city which is popularly known as the Silicon Valley of India. The official opening ceremony of Advantech India will be officiated by Mr. David Soon, Regional Managing Director of Advantech Singapore, South Asia Pacific Headquarters on 5th September 2005.

Advantech Singapore initiated the market development into India in year 2002. In 2003, Advantech Singapore selected its first local resident sales manager to promote Advantech as the Trusted ePlatform Service Provider. The effort has beenrewarding, and the growing team of technical support, channel management and marketing continue to fulfill expansion needs.

In early February 2005, Advantech Co. Ltd, the Worldwide Headquarters, decided to form AIN as one of its regional business units and to further develop the Indian market. Management representatives from Advantech Co. Ltd, Mr. Henry Lee, Vice President, Asia, ePlatform Services, and Mr. Howard Lin, Vice President, Asia, eAutomation Services, have been instrumental in AIN's development. The India team has been expanded and moved from a home set-up office to a new office premise.

Elaborating on the expansion into the Indian market, Mr. David Soon, Regional Managing Director of Advantech Singapore, said "India is the 4th largest economy, as shown in the recent studies of GDP ranking. We should be able to play a major part, contributing to the growth of India's industry. TheSingapore-India Free Trade Agreement and Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement will also be advantageous in long run. The timing is perfect for Advantech to capitalize on the various trade benefits and increase ourpresence in India."

Mr. Satish Allampalli, General Manager of Advantech Singapore commented that Advantech's focus is on hardware while India has the perfect complementary software abilities on solutions. "This is a real benefit to the Indian industry, it will be an ideal match," he added.

AIN is wholly owned by Advantech, and is a branch office of Advantech Singapore.Advantech Singapore will be the regional supporting hub for AIN's logistics, investments, business and developmentactivities and will enable the branch to reach out to greater heights.

With the current team strength of 4, AIN hopes to increase its members' strength to 7 by the end of the year. ePlatform services is headed by Mr. Arul Mani, Sales Manager (with 18 years of Indian industry experience in MNC) while eAutomation services by Mr. Balaji CM, Channel Sales Manager (with 17 years experience in Indian industry).

Handling the technical support is Mr. Vijay Kumar, Technical Manager (with 14 years inMNC). They all are backed-up byMs. Sheetal Kora, Marketing Executive whosupports the AIN team on Marcom activities.

The focus of this dedicated team is to create awareness, training and support channels to Key System Integrators and OEMs, also to build-up Advantech's software abilities to better support our hardware is one of their key focuses.
