The centerpiece of these avionics is the new KSG-7200 Air Data Attitude Heading Reference System. The KSG7200 is a derivative product from Honeywell's air transport and business jet markets. The system features Honeywell's Micro-Electromechanical Sensors in place of spinning mass gyros and accelerometers which provide superior accuracy eliminating the reliance on updates from a global positioning system.

'The KSG-7200 is a revolutionary, dual-channel system that combines attitude, altitude, airspeed, air temperature and heading information into a single box,' said Doug Kult, Sales Director for Light/Utility Helicopters at Honeywell. 'Each channel features Honeywell MEMS for attitude and rate accuracy, and Honeywell-produced solid-state pressure transducers for air-data reliability. The selection by Bell Helicopter represents the first helicopter contract award of the solid state MEMS ADAHRS. Federal Aviation Administration FAA certification is expected this year.'
The KSG-7200 collects information through each channel's central-processing unit and sensor block. With all components working together, the CPUs and sensors collect, share and compare information. Isolated low-speed transmitters continuously communicate Attitude Heading Reference System information to ensure superior sensor accuracy, eliminating the need for external augmentation, such as global-positioning systems. This innovative architecture also enables ADAHRS to re-initialize in flight, providing an added level of safety for the pilot.

In addition to the KSG-7200, Honeywell will provide the Automatic Direction Finder, RADAR Altimeter, Weather RADAR, and Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System. The ADAHRS system will be standard equipment on the Bell 429. The ADF, RADAR Altimeter, EGPWS, and Weather RADAR systems will be optional.
