APA IMPROVES ALCRYN MPR 2100 SERIES
23 September 2004 - Advanced Polymer Alloys Llc

Advanced Polymer Alloys (APA), a division of Ferro Corporation, has released an improved version of its Alcryn MPR 2100 series that performs better when processing moulded parts.

Advanced Polymer Alloys (APA), a division of Ferro Corporation, has released an improved version of its Alcryn MPR 2100 series that performs better when processing moulded parts.
The improved material has better processing characteristics, moulds easier, and bonds to a broader range of substrates.
The versatile Alcryn MPR 2100 series, a signature grade of Alcryn Melt-Processable Rubber (MPR), produces stronger substrate bonding than most TPE materials. It adheres securely to polycarbonate, ABS, PC/ABS alloys, ASA, copolyester elastomers, TPUs, and flexible and rigid PVC. It is designed specifically for over-moulded and coextrusion processing.
The Alcryn MPR 2100 series is engineered for applications where chemical exposure, durability, or weather exposure requirements are too severe for common TPE materials. It is ideal for ergonomic handles and grips and automotive interior and exterior parts and panels. General Motors recently approved the improved Alcryn MPR 2100 series for use in an over-molded exterior molding reveal part.
'The improved Alcryn MPR 2100 series lowers cycle times and enables moulders to design more complex two-shot parts and components,' said Jeff Senich, business development manager for APA.
'In high-performance applications, features like oil resistance, outstanding durability, and superior rubber feel are a bonus -- our customers just can't get this combination with other materials.'
