AKZO NOBEL INTRODUCES VOC-COMPLIANT LESONAL ASSORTMENT IN NEW EU MEMBER STATES

Akzo Nobel is introducing a VOC compliant Lesonal assortment in the new EU member states, fully compliant with European Union legislation. Waterborne basecoat Lesonal WB forms the heart of the assortment. A compact and easy to use assortment, Lesonal ensures a brilliant result with just a few elements.

The system

At the heart of the VOC compliant assortment is Lesonal WB, a waterborne basecoat that sprays like a conventional solventborne basecoat. It is ready for use and the toners do not need to be stirred, which means there is no need for a mixing machine. Application is easy, with excellent results. It has a very good color accuracy and covers in fewer coats, saving time and money.

A topcoat, clearcoat, and dedicated primers, hardeners and thinners complete the assortment. All colors the customer is likely to meet can be matched within the Lesonal WB system.

Product related services

Waterborne products are state-of-the-art in Europe, with thousands of satisfied customers. Although Lesonal is easy to use, Akzo Nobel helps its customer adjust to the new products by offering Lesonal Basecoat WB application training and color tinting (also available for Lesonal Topcoat HS 420). Before introducing Lesonal WB in the bodyshop, the Lesonal WB scan helps to identify and solve possible bottlenecks in switching from solventborne to waterborne paint.

Previous experience

EU legislation requires all car refinishes products to be fully VOC compliant before 2007. To accompany the introduction of Lesonal WB, Akzo Nobel has developed a brochure describing both the legislation and the assortment.

Lesonal WB has enjoyed a lot of success since its introduction in Western Europe. Customers are particularly pleased with the compact and easy to use assortment, saving them time and money.
