NEW DEVICES OFFER SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE IN COST-EFFECTIVE SOLUTION FOR RELIABLE HIGH-TEMPERATURE OPERATION
23 March 2004 - Vishay Electronic

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today announced the release of a new +110 °C-rated family of optocouplers, the first devices in standard plastic packaging to achieve an operating temperature range from −55 °C up to +110 °C.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today announced the release of a new +110 °C-rated family of optocouplers, the first devices in standard plastic packaging to achieve an operating temperature range from −55 °C up to +110 °C.

The new Vishay Semiconductors optocouplers are designed to provide safe, optical connections between circuits in wide range of systems, from ac adapters, power supplies, programmable logic controllers, and industrial automation to game consoles and PCs.

Used for ac adapters, these optocouplers' higher temperature specifications allow the construction of smaller, lighter gear by eliminating the need to maintain a lower temperature on the optocoupler. As a result, they provide designers with a better-performing alternative to +85 °C-rated devices and a lower-cost alternative to ceramic optocouplers.

In addition to a +110 °C rating, the new optocoupler family provides a broad range of CTR values. Six package options, DIP 4, SOP 4 miniflat with 100 mil lead pitch, DIP 6, DIP 8, SOIC 8, and DIP 16, offer designers both flexibility and space savings. Isolation test voltages are specified at values up to 5300 VRMS, and the collector-emitter voltage is a high 70 V for most products.

The new SFH1617A, TCET111x, SFH1690, CNY117, CNY117F, 6N1135/6, ILD1615, IL120xAT, ILD12xxT, and ILQ1615 optocouplers have been certified by key international safety regulatory agencies including VDE, UL, and CSA.

Samples and production quantities of the +110 °C optocouplers are available now with lead times of five to eight weeks for larger orders.
