Vishay Intertechnology today announced that it has completed its ultra-bright Vishay Semiconductors TLCx5100 LED series with the new TLCW5100, an exceptionally bright and highly visible 5-mm white LED designed to meet the demands of high-end lighting applications.

Vishay Intertechnology today announced that it has completed its ultra-bright Vishay Semiconductors TLCx5100 LED series with the new TLCW5100, an exceptionally bright and highly visible 5-mm white LED designed to meet the demands of high-end lighting applications.

Built on high-efficiency InGaN technology, the new TLCW5100 is a clear, non-diffused LED with 0.33 chromasticity and typical luminous intensity of 4000 mcd. A 9° angle of intensity and an untinted plastic lens are optimized to provide exceptional light output and visibility.

Devices in the Vishay Semiconductors TLCx5100 series, which also includes red, blue, yellow, and true green versions with luminous intensity as high as 20,000 mcd, serve as energy-saving and more reliable alternatives to incandescent lamps in a broad range of applications including interior and exterior lighting, outdoor display panels, automotive instrumentation and front-panel indicators, and light guide designs.

In addition to a maximum dc forward current of 30 mA and reverse voltage of 5 V, the TLCW5100 features thermal resistance of 300 K/W, an ESD-withstand voltage of 1 kV, and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +100°C. To ensure even lighting, TLCx5100 LEDs are luminous intensity and color categorized for each packing unit.

Samples and production quantities of the new TLCW5100 ultra-bright white LED are available now, with lead times of six weeks for larger orders.
