| The Vishay Dale IHLP-2525CZ-01 and IHLP-5050CE-01 inductors feature low DCR/mH values for their package sizes. With the addition of the new devices, standard inductance values in the IHLP-2525CZ-01 series now range from 0.10 µH to 10 µH, with typical DCR from 1.5 mΩ to 102 mΩ, depending on inductance, and saturation currents up to 60 A. Inductance range for the IHLP-5050CE-01 has been extended to include standard inductance values from 0.10 µH to 10 µH, typical DCR values from 0.8 mΩ to 30.4 mΩ, and saturation currents up to 84 A. |
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has announced that it is adding to its IHLP high-current inductor families with new devices that provide an extended range of inductance values. Both series of inductors operate at frequencies up to 5 MHz and feature low DCR and a height profile that is 30% lower than in conventional solutions. Designed for dc-to-dc converter and energy storage applications, the new Vishay devices will be used to replace taller, larger, and/or lower-performing inductors, thus enabling more power-efficient PDAs, notebooks and desktop computers, servers, and battery-operated devices. Power conversion applications for the new devices will include low-voltage, high-performance microprocessors, distributed power systems, high-current point of load converters, and dc-to-dc converters for field programmable gate arrays. Vishay's IHLP-2525CZ-01 inductors measure 0.25 in. (6.47 mm) by 0.27 in. (6.68 mm), with a height profile of just 0.118 in. (3.0 mm). Dimensions for the IHLP-5050CE-01 devices are 0.508 in. (12.9 mm) by 0.520 in. (13.2 mm), with a height profile of 0.138 in. (3.5 mm). The operating temperature range for the two new devices is -55°C to +125°C. Each device family is constructed with 100% lead (Pb)-free, shielded composite that reduces buzz noise significantly and provides resistance to shock and vibration. The inductors' low height profiles allow manufacturers to reduce the overall height requirements of PCB boards, enabling design of smaller, lower-profile electronic devices with enhanced electrical performance. Samples and production quantities are available now. Lead time for production quantities is six to eight weeks.
