NEW INDUSTRY-BEST ESTABLISHED RELIABILITY DISCRETE RESISTOR FEATURES RADICALLY IMPROVED TCR SPECIFICATION
05 October 2001 - Vishay Electronic
| Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today announced a new established reliability resistor that features the industry's best TCR specification, setting a new standard for high-precision established reliability discrete resistors. The RNC90Z is an "R" level military-approved resistor qualified to MIL-PRF-55182/9 and designed to provide increased accuracy for fixed resistor analog applications including feedback, gain setting, voltage division, and current sensing in military aircraft and missile guidance systems. |
Until now, the RNC90Y has been the benchmark for discrete established reliability resistors. Vishay's breakthrough introduction of the technologically advanced commercial ultra-precision low-TCR Z201 resistor in 2000 enabled the development of the new RNC90Z. Built on Bulk Metal foil technology, the device offers designers a equally priced alternative to the with a radically improved TCR of ±2 ppm over an extended temperature range of -55°C to +175°C. Available in a resistance range of 100 Ω to 50,100 Ω with tolerance from ±0.1% (any valve) to ±1.0%, the RNC90Z features a maximum working voltage of 300 V. The new resistor measures 0.105 in. by 0.300 in. (2.67 mm by 7.62 mm), with a height of 0.326 in. (8.28 mm), and typically weighs 0.6 grams. Samples and production quantities are available now. Lead time for production quantities is 10 weeks.
