BARLO PLASTICS HAS LAUNCHED BARLO XT SOFT TONE EXTRUDED ACRYLIC SHEET
Barlo Plastics has launched BARLO XT "Soft Tone" extruded acrylic sheet with the appearance and feel of traditional frosted glass, but without the limitations of size or weight. Barlo Plastics is now reflecting the demand for softer, more tactile surfaces because frosted glass has long been used in store design to give an exclusive, softer appearance to displays, but the risk of breakage has always limited its use to small units. Barlo XT "Soft Tone" combines the same mechanical properties of class leading Barlo XT clear sheet, but with the additional benefits of a double sided matt finish, providing a stylish, trendy look without distracting reflections and an easy to maintain surface. The sheet will be available in a thickness range of 2 to 6mm as standard production, with up to 25mm available to special order from the factory. Classic clear, Silicat Green and Opal will be available as tints, and later this year a translucent blue variant will be added to the range. Business Director, Wilfried Bernard, explained, "Soft Tone will allow designers creative freedom to achieve a "frosted" look without the dangers associated with traditional glass panels. Extruded acrylic sheet is easy to fabricate and print, bringing a new look into store design." "Barlo has appointed regional distributors across Europe, who will all offer the new material as part of their range of acrylics, Bernard added, "our strategy is to continually develop new products and application areas for acrylic sheets and to offer fit for purpose solutions to the design sector".
