NEW VECTAN LENTICULAR SHEET
02 January 2000 - Barlo Plastics

Manufactured on a special new line with unique tooling, the BARLO VECTAN lenticular sheet, made from raw materials produced by Eastman Chemical, can be supplied in thicknesses from 0.4 to 0.6mm, in sheet sizes up to 720mm wide and is being increasingly used in the promotional, incentives, packaging and point of purchase display industries.

Barlo Plastics, part of the Irish Barlo Group plc, which is quoted on the Stock Exchange (London and Dublin), has announced a new product, BARLO VECTAN lenticular sheet.

Printed images that move, change shape, leap out in brilliant 3-D or even reproduce action video sequences, are made possible by the use of Barlo's extruded lenticular sheet, which, featuring a high refractive index, displays multiple images through successive lenticules, or grooved lenses, cut into the plastic surface.

A number of commercial projects have been produced by Burall PlasTec, a specialist UK litho plastics printer and pioneer of lenticular printing technology, in association with leading reprographics house Qualitech, who undertook the necessary digitised imaging work.

The two companies have launched a joint initiative called ImagivisionTM to commercially exploit the limitless opportunities that lenticular technology offers for powerful new concepts within the promotional and display industries and Barlo Plastics are pleased to be associated with them in this innovative and exciting work.

Barlo Plastics is a new force in the sheet plastics market created by the merger of IRG Plastics (Belgium), Resart (Germany) and Critesa (Spain). Recently, the company acquired Celair (France).
