DUPONT NEW ACTIVE LAYER MAKES ITS DEBUT
The Active Layer manages moisture through an impenetrable yet breathable layer of film of high quality construction that provides superior functional performance. Also, the film is recyclable if used with 100 percent polyester fabrics. Beyond apparel, DuPont Active Layer is finding increasing acceptance in many end uses requiring waterproof, breathable and windproof characteristics, such as operating room gowns, some personal protective apparel, backpacks, sleeping bags and bedding covers. DuPont today unveiled the DuPont Active Layer at the 2005 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City. A new scientifically engineered film, the DuPont Active Layer provides waterproof and windproof protection to active apparel that helps people stay dry and comfortable during inclement weather conditions. The DuPont Active Layer is featured in a variety of clothing products, such as ski and snowboard gloves, winter sports jackets, golf rain gear, shoes and hunting apparel. "Whether you're skiing on a snow-capped mountain, playing golf in windy and wet conditions or trekking across a rain-soaked parking lot, DuPont Active Layer provides outstanding comfort and protection," said Greg Hindman, DuPont Active Layer Program Manager. "The DuPont Active Layer continues our rich tradition of providing superior quality products to the marketplace." DuPont is in the process of finalizing the details of a marketing program that would be available to retailers, allowing them to affix a DuPont Active Layer hangtag to their active apparel. "Consumers know and trust the DuPont brand and they expect products carrying the DuPont brand to deliver high performance and quality", said Hindman. DuPont has a long history of scientific innovations in consumer materials, and DuPont Active Layer continues that tradition. In addition, DuPont's global manufacturing capabilities will provide laminators, brand houses and retailers access to the DuPont Active Layer product around the world.
