DSM PROBIOTIC LAFTI L10 PROVES IT'S STRENGTH

Recent research by DSM has confirmed the superior efficacy, stability and survival of DSM`s probiotic Lactobacillus acidophilus LAFTI L10. With the probiotic activity of many supplements significantly reduced by the time the capsule reaches the gastro-intestinal tract, the only place that really matters, the proven gastro-intestinal survival of LAFTI L10 will benefit both Dietary Supplement manufacturers and consumers.

''Probiotic success depends on three key factors, efficacy of the probiotic strain selected, stability of the probiotic in the dietary supplement and survival in the human gastro-intestinal tract," comments Nelleke van Oorschot, technical service officer of DSM Food Specialties. "The efficacy of the LAFTI strain and its survival in the gastro-intestinal tract have already been demonstrated in several trials. With the latest results from stability trials, we are in a position to provide manufacturers with clear and transparent stability statements which define what residual cell count can be expected after storage at typical temperatures."

DSM has dedicated considerable resource to developing the LAFTI range and more beneficial effects are investigated in on-going human clinical trials. The three LAFTI strains (Lactobacillus acidophilus LAFTI L10, Bifidobacterium lactis LAFTI B94 and Lactobacillus casei LAFTI L26) have been selected for their positive probiotic effect to the consumer, good stability and excellent survival in the gastro-intestinal tract. They also deliver a high level of colony forming units per gram and promise an excellent shelf life, making them a safe, scientifically-backed option for both manufacturers and consumers.
