ESAB Automation's new Vision LE is designed to control medium sized portal profile cutting machines. It provides a graphical user interface on a PC based system that is reliable and simple. On screen graphics and features, such as the soft-key menu and speed potentiometer, allow fingertip control of the cutting machine. There are also many other advanced features which make Vision LE the most advanced controller of its type currently available. Its productivity benefits of the Vision LE are made possible through the provision of easier and accurate control of the cutting speed. There is an exclusive library of 65 shapes which allows the operator to easily create commonly used shapes. A simple user interface allows the operator to select the desired shape graphically, enter the required dimensions, then see a graphical preview of the part before cutting the new program. Simple shapes can be programmed directly on the controller. An 8-position joystick is provided for easy and fast machine positioning. On screen graphics show real-time tool position during program execution, graphical selection of shape library programs, graphical preview of dimensioned shapes and graphics to text program editor. Cutting accuracy is ensured with the kerf on the fly/kerf override. This cut width path compensation is fast and kerf width can be changed during program execution. This allows the operator to fine tune part size, for more accurate parts, less scrap, and less setup. The VisionLE is a powerful PC-based processor with 16 Mbytes part program storage. It also has a floppy disk drive and a process panel for up to 6 stations pre-selection and manual up/down movement and process on/off functions.
