ESAB'S NEW RANGE OF WELDING HELMETS
27 May 2004 - ESAB Group
| ESAB has a long history of providing the ultimate in safety gear for welders and the latest ESAB Eye-Tech automatic helmet range is no exception. |
All Eye-Tech helmets provide full-face and eye protection to offer complete protection from both visible light and radiation in the infrared and ultra violet spectrum. Advanced electronic design means that darkness of the eye-shading is continuously adjustable using an automatic sensing system within a set range. Use of solar cells to power the electronics means there is no need for batteries or re-charging. There are four black finished Eye-Tech helmets offering darkness values adjustable in a range according to the current range of the electric welding or cutting process in use. Whilst 10/11 is suitable for an MMA range of 40-175A, 10/12 offers protection over the 40-300A range. Eye-Tech 9/13 covers the 20-500A welding range and is also suitable for plasma cutting. All of these helmets also provide protection during MIG, MAG and TIG welding and arc air gouging. An additional heat-reflective silver finished model, Eye-Tech 5/13 offers a wider range of shading options to cover plasma cutting, grinding, gas welding/cutting and micro plasma welding. A push-button facility allows the lens to remain clear for 10 minutes during grinding operations; during this period a red light flashes inside the visor to alert the user to the fact that the helmet is set in grinding mode. All Eye-Tech helmets feature five step adjustment for head size, and all are compatible with the ESAB Air 175 fresh air filter unit. This light weight system provides particle filtration and a P3 fume filter with pre-filtration for an air flow rate of 175 litres/min. It is available with five-hour and eight-hour battery packs and incorporates automatic clogged filter and low battery warnings.
