NEW ESABMIG FOR HEAVY DUTY SOLUTIONS
23 January 2003 - ESAB Group

ESAB has introduced ESABMig, a new range of flexible heavy-duty welding units packed with advanced features based on proven technology. The powerful and economical semi-automatic range gives outstanding welding performance and reliability day after day.

Designed for heavy industrial use, the high power ESABMig delivers up to 500 Amps at 60% duty cycle, making it suitable for welding mild and stainless steel from 1.0 mm thick and aluminium from 1.5 mm thick and up. High productivity is assured by ESABMig's stable arc that gives excellent welding properties for welding wire up to 2.4mm diameter.

Three induction outlets allow easier optimised settings to give superb welding performance and characteristics with mixed gases and C02. Further control is provided by an adjustable crater fill function to ensure a smooth finish and eliminate cracks.

The sturdy and robust equipment is available in a choice of two variants ESABMig 400t and ESABMig 500t. Both machines are housed in a tough galvanised metal casing with optional built in air filter for tough industrial environments and have integral ergonomic handles for easy movement.

Two new wire feeders, ESABFeed 30-4 and ESABFeed 48-4 complement ESABMig. Both have four-wheel drive and optimised feed rollers to provide excellent feeding qualities and electronic control for an accurate and stable arc. Both are available with either encapsulated spool holder or equipped for Marathon Pac.

A synergic control function allows easy accurate setting of welding parameters. There are 14 pre-programmed synergic lines for easy one-knob control. It is also possible to create two own synergic lines to optimise the settings for customer specific applications. Further timesaving and a long working radius are provided by all settings being made on the wire feeder.

For increased productivity, ESABMig is easily mechanised, thanks to the built in connectors for both Railtrac and Miggytrac. ELP ESAB LogicPump, gives automatic starting of the water pump when a PSF water-cooled welding gun is connected, to eliminate overheating of the welding gun.
